The Wacces 3-In-1 Fitness Exercise Pull Up Bar

The Wacces 3-In-1 Fitness Exercise Pull Up Bar is one of the cheapest doorway pull up bars out there today.

Just going on that alone, you might be thinking this is already a steal.

But is it?

  • Is extremely competitively priced
  • Better for individuals with smaller hands

How Many Grip Positions Are There?

The Wacces 3-In-1 Fitness Exercise Pull Up Bar has three grip positions. They are:

  • narrow grip (a couple of inches apart)
  • traditional (slightly wider than shoulder width)
  • hammer grip (palms facing each other)

Depending on what direction your face your hands, you could theoretically perform up to six different pull or chin up variations.

What Exercises Can You Do?

As a doorway pull and chin up bar, this product is sufficient in that it gives you a decent variety of exercise variations. With it, you could perform:

  • wacces ab straps
    narrow-grip pull or chin ups
  • traditional (slightly wider than shoulder width) pull ups
  • hammer grip (palms facing each other) pull ups

Like with other doorway pull up bars, you can also perform:

  • hanging leg raises
  • pushups by placing the device on the floor
  • sit ups by using the device as a brace for your legs in a doorway

One neat little benefit of these bar is that it offers free complimentary ab straps that come with it in the box.

With the ab straps, you could perform even more hanging leg variations to hit your abs from a few more different angles.

Just like the Iron Gym, the device unfortunately sits way too low in order for you to properly do dips. This is nothing unique, as literally every other doorway pull up bar has this problem.

In terms of how many exercise variations this device could let you perform, it's acceptable for a good workout.

What Is It Made Out Of? How Much Can It Hold?

The Wacces 3-In-1 Exercise Pull Up Bar uses silver-coated steel as its backbone, dotted with black foam cushioned grips

One of the biggest complaints about this product are its grips.

Being of rather dubious quality (which is not exactly something unique within this market) is one thing, however they are also a bit on the small side.

The Wacces' closest competitor, the Iron Gym Upper Body Workout, doesn't exactly have big grips, and the Wacces' are a bit smaller than that.

So, if you've got bigger hands and want something similar, check out the Iron Gym, which has much better grip supports.

In terms of weight support, this pull up bar can support individuals up to 300 lbs, however there have been numerous reports of heavier individuals (over 200 lbs) who noticed shakiness and a slight bend in the bar.

The ab straps state that they can only support up to 250 lbs on the bar.

Heavier individuals may want to look at a product like the Stamina Doorway Trainer Plus, which has a thicker bar and is more sturdy.

Is It Easy To Install? What Doorways Will It Fit?

Assembly is usually pretty easy for most pull up bars, and the Wacces is no exception. Assembly and installation shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

Numerous consumers faulted the directions in the user manual as being unclear, but the device only has a few parts and can easily be built by simply looking at the picture on the box.

There are no optional J-brackets that come with this device, so those who want a permanently affixed pull up bar will have to look elsewhere.

Like many other doorway pull up bars, this product will not work on just any doorway.

Your doorway must have:

  • wacces fitness door
    doorway trimming and mould

Here are some guidelines to check before purchasing, to ensure that it would fit in your doorway.

  • will only fit doorways from 24-32 inches (no extensions are offered)
  • the width of the door should be from 3-6 inches
  • the trim and moulding around the doorway can't be more than 5 inches in height, or the back brace won't be able to hook around on it

Black scuff left behind on the trim and doorway after use is a common complaint against these product and the Waccess 3-In-1 is no different.

The best way to protect against this is by wrapping the contact points in tape or an old t-shirt, or place cardboard in between everything.

What Are The Pros?

Who would value the Wacces 3-In-1 Fitness Exercise Door Pull Up Bar the most?

  • individuals who want a bare-bones pull up bar that is easy to assemble and set up
  • individuals who want a product that can meet their basic fitness needs at a low cost (<$20)
  • lighter individuals with smaller hands

What Are The Cons?

While this pull up bar does offer some advantages and will work for certain people, it has its cons. Those being:

  • very small grips that are prone to tearing, compressing and ripping

What Are Its Consumer Ratings?

Two things matter when comparing similar products.

  • the number of reviews each product has
  • the average rating for each of those products

The better (higher) each of these metrics is, the higher the likelihood of you being satisfied.

And how does the Wacces 3-In-1 compare?

Overall, it has an average number of ratings and an average rating.

Although it has the benefit of being very inexpensive, and one of the few pull up bars to come with free ab straps, it also has rather poor grips and can be flimsy for heavier and taller individuals.

This is an amazing door unit. I use it daily. It was extremely easy to assemble and is very easy to use and operate in all uses: chin ups, pullups, situps, and pushups!!

What A Consumer Says...

Is It Priced Fairly?

The majority of these products are priced from the teens to the low thirties.

The Wacces 3-In-1 is priced at the lower end of that spectrum.

For lighter individuals who want a bare-bones product who want to save $10 or so, this product might be OK for you.

Considering the free ab straps, the price is just about right for this pull up bar.

Overall, we would give the Wacces 3-In-1 Fitness Exercise Pull Up Bar a...

thumbs up and down

There's a few reasons for this.

It's closest competitor, the Iron Gym, is more highly rated by a significant number of people, for a slightly higher price, and offers better grips as well as the possibility of fitting in bigger doorways.

Although it's rated as being able to support heavier individuals, it's still not as sturdy as something like the Stamina Doorway Plus.

On the plus side, it does come with free straps, which for such a cheap product is a bit of a nice touch.
